We are dedicated to offering locally-based care for bereaved families in Central, Western and Northern Southland including Fiordland and Te Anau.

Dave (manager), Sally and Ross offer confidential advice on all funeral service needs including recording your loved one's service, supply and maintenance of headstones, and prepayment of funeral expenses through the FDANZ Prepaid Funeral Trust.

Our local facilities include a dedicated arrangement lounge and viewing room. Families can also choose to use either our late model Holden hearse or one of our two (Invercargill-based) Jaguars.

We welcome any interested persons to call into the premises during usual business hours, or if the premises are temporarily unattended, simply phone 03 236 7586.

David Fraser (manager)

Registered Funeral Director and Embalmer.

Dave originally farmed and shore sheep in the Balfour area before joining the funeral industry. He now lives on a small farm near Gore.

Sally Tilly

Funeral Director and Celebrant.

Sally lives on a lifestyle block on the outskirts of Invercargill and enjoys a vast variety of animals, her garden and maze. She has been involved in the funeral industry since 2009.

Ariana Duthie

Funeral Director

Tēnā koutou, Ko Ariana Duthie tokū ingoa, my name is Ariana Duthie and I feel humbled & honoured to work as a funeral director for J Fraser and Sons'.

I am married to Troy & together we have raised our two adult children Taine & Maiya. We have enjoyed many years in the local softball community and although my competitive playing years in both netball and softball are over, I enjoy watching our kids play in their chosen sports. I fill my cup by spending time with my family & friends, spending time on our wee farmlet and walking our gorgeous Labrador 'Bo'.

My working life up until now has been in the healthcare sectors and I see this new role as an extension of the work I have done over the past 32 years.

Genuine care, empathy, and respect for your loved one is my priority, as I walk alongside you on your journey.

A brief history

The Winton business was first established by Ian and Heather Rizzi in 1981.

It was subsequentially purchased by Wilson Funeral Services before becoming part of J Fraser and Sons in February 2012.

J Fraser & Sons Ltd Funeral Directors is Invercargill's longest established family owned and operated funeral home and monumental masons serving all of the Southland region.
