Devastatingly as the result of an unforeseen accident on Friday afternoon, April 22, 2022.

Aged 17 years.

Son and baby of Amanda Chalmers and Te Teira Tawhai. 

Baby brother, treasure and bruv of Jai Stewart, Te Amo (Tamara) Tawhai, Te Awhimate (Awhi) Tawhai.

Cherished and loved mokopuna of Joy Ann Te Whenua and the late Allan (Chook) Johnstone, Fergus Chalmers, Minnie Tawhai nee (Tuuta) and Wiremu Tawhai.

Loved nephew, kuku boy, cousin, uncle, and bro.

Taonga to his whanau and friends. 

A farewell to celebrate Maru and his short but impactful life, will be held at Nga Hau E Wha, 193 Conon Street, Invercargill. Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 11:00am.

Followed by an interment at the Eastern Invercargill Cemetery.
