It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of (Alfred) Waka Moses of Motupōhue (Bluff).

He passed away peacefully, early morning on Tuesday 8th August 2022 surrounded by his loved ones at his home on Barrow Street, Bluff.

He began his life in Mataora Bay in the north island, developed his career as he headed southward through Nelson doing his apprenticeship in trades, followed his brother Lou and cousin Margy to Invercargill where he served as a prison officer.

Waka eventually found his forever home and community in the town of Bluff.

He will be forever missed and loved by his loving partner, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

Waka’s tangi will be at Te Rau Aroha marae in Bluff with the final service held on 11am Friday, 11 August.
