Southland has over 28 Catchment Groups, forming a network covering over 85% of the Southland region, and this network is expanding rapidly.

Lower Mataura Catchment Group

South of the Mataura island bridge, including the Mataura River but more specifically the Titiroa and the Gorge Road streams.

There are 75 members in the Catchment Group.

They are always looking for the next area to focus on while continuing to build engagement and revisit the core catchment group areas.

The Lower Mataura Catchment Group was established in 2016.
