I’m seeking your support (and number 1 ranking) to help ensure our health services are delivering for our community.
The challenges are well documented, the DHB needs a strong board, with fresh thinking and the capability to have robust discussions, to navigate its way successfully through the many challenges it is facing.
There are some key strategic priorities these include:
1. Funding responsive localised services that meet our regions diverse geographic needs (in particular maternity care).
2. Delivery of cancer treatment
3. Supporting an integrated system to ensure joined up delivery of healthcare from GP visit to Hospital care and all needs in between.
The DHB needs strong and disciplined governance focused on effective implementation and delivery in order to meet the needs of the southland community and I can bring the skills to the table to make that happen, sticking with the status quo won’t achieve this.
I bring a depth of experience as a commercial lawyer and from a range of governance roles, including currently serving as chairperson of Youthline Southland and board member of the Southern Health School and previous deputy chair of Southland Disability Enterprises.
I am confident challenging thought and driving effective implementation and will be a strong advocate for Southland.
