Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Hospice Southland on Sunday 21 September 2025.

Aged 73 years.

Dearly loved husband of Dianne for 54 years.

Much loved father and father in law of Justin and Deb, and Julie and Brent Forbes.

Adored Pop of Maddie, Conor, Alex, Alycia, Tom, and Lily.

Loved brother and brother in law of Alan*, Gail and Trevor Horrell, Janice and Marty O’Driscoll, Bryan and Flo* Smith.

Loved son of the late Bill and Mavis Henderson.

Loved son in law of Alice and Tom* Smith.

In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Southland would be greatly appreciated and can be left at Maurice’s service.

Family sincerely thank Tarryn Keith – Murihiku Medical Centre, Hospice Southland staff and Professor Chris Jackson for their care and compassion of Maurice.

Maurice will be at home from Wednesday with his family.

A Celebration of Maurice’s life will be held on Friday 26th September, 1.30pm in J Fraser and Sons Chapel, corner Esk and Doon Streets, Invercargill.

Private cremation will follow.
