The Fiordland Trails Trust develops and maintains a high-quality, multi-use trail network in Fiordland.
The Lake2Lake Trail runs from Te Anau to Manapouri, offering incredible views, hard-packed grade two (easy) trails and a great experience whether you're on bike, e-bike or on foot.
The trail network also goes in the other direction, travelling lakeside from the Te Anau marina to the Upukerora River Mouth. The Trust is working to extend this trail further past Patience Bay.
The Trust's work stems beyond trail development, maintenance and promotion - it also has a role in conservation. In 2021 it was awarded funding through the Government's Jobs for Nature programme to undertake significant work in pest and weed control and native planting over the next three years.
The Trust also runs a popular half marathon and 10k event, usually in August each year, as a main fundraiser.
The Trust relies on donations and community grants to fund the trails and donations are always welcome.
