David is based in Te Anau, Fiordland and is a founding member of celtic rock fusion band Highland Storm.
David has played bagpipes his whole life.
He is a life member of the City of Invercargill Caledonian Pipe Band and was its pipe major for 10 years. During that time, he led the band to three consecutive national titles (grade 2) and was co-founder and musical director of the highly acclaimed Pipin’ Hot shows.
He was a founding member of the Celtic fusion band Pipeworkz and over the years has performed throughout New Zealand as well as in Canada, USA, Australia, Japan, Germany, Scotland and Papua New Guinea. These have included featured performances at the world-famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the world’s largest indoor annual show - the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, as well as the Berlin and Cologne Military Tattoos and the Hamburg Police Show.
David writes the bagpipe arrangements for Highland Storm and also tutors bagpipes in the Fiordland area.

Pipe Major John Teviotdale
John is based in Queenstown where he is the pipe major of the Queenstown and Southern Lakes Highland Pipe Band and a member of celtic rock fusion band Highland Storm.
He has previously played for the City of Invercargill Caledonian Pipe Band, Waimatuku Highland Pipe Band and was previously pipe major of Brisbane’s Twin Towns and Sutherland Pipe Band in Australia.
In 2018 he led the Queenstown Band when it represented New Zealand at the Shanghai Tourism Festival in China.
He’s an alumni of both Pipin’ Hot and Pipeworkz and has toured in Canada, Germany and Papa New Guinea. He has also performed with Scottish contemporary country singer Isla Grant through Australia and New Zealand.
Both his sons now play snare drum with the City of Invercargill Highland Pipe Band.

Piper Lee Hart
Lee is based in Mosgiel and is a member of celtic rock fusion band Highland Storm.
Lee is a former member of the City of Dunedin Highland and RSA Taieri pipe bands.
As a member of Pipeworkz, he has performed throughout New Zealand as well as in Germany and Canada.
He is also an accomplished martial arts exponent.

Piper Greg Lindsay leading an ANZAC parade
Greg is based in Invercargill and is a member of celtic rock fusion band Highland Storm.
Greg is a former member of the City of Invercargill Pipe Band and was a prominent soloist in its Pipin’ Hot shows and recordings. He also wrote many of the bagpipe arrangements for the show.
He was also a founding member of the Celtic rock band Pipeworkz. These roles have led him to perform in Australia and Canada and he performed at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in New Zealand.
Based in Invercargill, he is now fostering the next generation, with his son now learning the bagpipes.
