Manapouri Station, 690 Blackmount-Redcliff Road - The Key Te Anau
The Te Anau Basin Trail Ride is an annual community fundraiser event, held on the last Saturday in February each year, on an iconic farming property.
First held in 2019, we are currently planning our 7th trail ride.
Our 2025 ride will be held at a new venue – based on Manapouri Station, The Key – but also riding across several neighbouring farm properties in big loops – we are grateful to the owners / managers for allowing us access to their properties.
A committee of 11 keen motorbike enthusiasts organise the entire event – from BBQ food, the risks and safety plan, logistics with toilets and tents plus finding then marking the many kilometres of riding trails.
We are a family-friendly event – there are trails for beginners, youngsters, families but also expert advanced riders – something for all ages, skills and riding capability.
On the day, people from various community groups, sporting or educational entities volunteer to help the committee run the event.
n return for their time and effort – can be upwards of 65 volunteers – each group will receive a portion of the profit.
Too date, the event has raised, then donated $100K into the Fiordland Community
We are thankful for the ongoing generous support from our long-term sponsors - Gore & Districts Motorcycle Club, as hosts for the permit from Motorcycle NZ event; Platinum sponsors GWD Hyundai Southland for covering the costs of Hato Hone St John ambulance crew for the day, and Gold sponsor Ewan Alan Honda Gore for the loan of bikes and gear for our team.
It is going to be another great day.
The riding and the views will be amazing. Put 22 February 2025 in your diary.
Online registrations open approx. 12 February, but you can register on the day in person too.
